As known as Madhuca utilis, Palaquium ridleyi and P. stellatum. It is a heavy version of another light-duty hardwood species named Nyatoh, therefore nicknamed 'Nyatoh Kong'.

It is categorized in the SG1 strength group, known for being one of the heaviest and strongest hardwood species by the Malaysian Timber Industry Board.
